Creativity is potential. It is limitless possibility. But you can’t manifest it.

In the quantum realm, everything exists in a state of potential, in wave form, until it is observed. When it is observed the wave is collapsed, and then it exists as a particle. We can then measure it, because it no longer has infinite potential. It has been limited.

The same principle applies in life. In order to have the life you want it must be limited. You can’t be everything to everybody. You will make no impact, have no fun and burn yourself out in the process. Just the same, you can’t manifest everything (besides, you would get a lot of stuff you don’t want). You decide by limiting yourself to what you DO want.

Be very specific and be clear on your intention. You can still have and do a lot of different things. But attract your intention, one at a time, with a singular point of focus. Limit yourself.

Imagine that the thing you want to manifest as a watermelon. You want to make a real impact – so which tool would you use? A well-honed knife with a single point of focus, or a beach ball? Mind you, a beach ball is well-rounded – and its surface is covered with multitudinous points of focus (desires, things you intend to manifest) – but what impact will it have on the watermelon? Nothing. It will bounce off! And what will happen with the knife? It will get right to the heart of what you want to manifest.

Love, joy and living your life purpose: a channelled blog post.

I have been channelling spirit guides professionally for a couple of years now, but recently have delved into learning formal “trance” channelling. I have a wonderful high-level guide named Charisse. (I thought this was such a pretty and unusual name – so I looked it up and it means grace and kindness. She certainly embodies both qualities!).

So, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce you to her with some of what she has told me. In our channelling sessions, I ask her questions of a personal nature as well as some of a universal nature. I also ask her what subject she would like to talk about – what messages she would like to get out to the world through me. This post is from one of those sessions. This post is about love and joy, and how this relates to living your life purpose…

 “Love is THE greatest thing. The saying “love makes the world go ‘round” is so true, but not in the sense of simply a human romantic sense, I am talking about “true love”. True love, universal love, is UNCONDITIONAL. It is not necessarily between two adults or even from parent to child. It goes well beyond.

Can you imagine what the world would be like if it was filled with – if everyone expressed – true love? It would be paradise! And so joyful! This is what the energy is like in the higher spiritual planes. Part of what you are here for in this incarnation is to experience love, to give and receive love. This incarnation, with its polarity, allows you to feel love against its opposite. It allows for a richer experience of what love truly is. If we are loving in all that we do and encourage others to be the same, and the more loving we can be to, and with, each other, the happier, easier and better life will be. Love is the surest path to joy.

So, embodying love is the #1 key to living a simply divine life. (Yeah, I know – blatant plug. But in all seriousness she DID say it! ).

Key #2 is doing and being what brings you joy and brings you aliveness, for that is the only way that you can truly live. Listen to the inspiration that whispers to your soul and follow that inspiration!

What is joy?

 
Joy is a state of complete connection with Source. It is having that channel to your higher self and Source completely and wide open. It is a beautiful state of flow of energy and consciousness, of the highest connection. Joy is your soul fulfilling itself.

One connection that many don’t understand is that self love is also universal love. You are a part of Source – a child of God. When you love yourself, you also love and are connected to Source. To love yourself is to love Source. You are NOT separate.

Please pay attention to the following sentence – it is SO important! Too many people here on the Earth plane] do not follow their joy because they do not love themselves enough to do it, and thus, too many people have regrets at the end of their lives. Too many people “play it safe” – but it’s not about taking risks. It’s about being connected. People are so disconnected [from Source, from their higher selves, from joy and love] and that is the major cause of strive and struggle. We need to reconnect with love, joy and aliveness. Then it makes learning life lessons an easy, beautiful experience instead of one of harshness and hardship. People have a mistaken sense of nobility when it comes to martyrdom, with suffering. This world would be filled with so much more light than it is now, beauty aside, if we lived in a connectedness with joy and love.”

Take some time every day this week to get quiet. Place one hand over your heart and one on your belly, and ask your soul, your higher self, how you can embody love to a greater degree. Ask also how you can connect more to joy and to yourself. Ask also, how you can best honour and love yourself. It is okay to love yourself – you are worthy.

I have written before about life purpose and soul purpose, where soul purpose is defined as your soul’s talents, gifts and challenges that you express during your time here – your life purpose is the expression of your soul purpose. Your life purpose may look like one thing, one path – or it may look like many, even seemingly unrelated paths (which are linked at a higher level). There is not some specific thing that you are here to do – it’s not necessarily about WHAT you do more than HOW you do it.

Every experience you have has the potential to reveal to you your life’s purpose, and you may be surprised to find that you are living your life purpose even though you didn’t realize it. And all the stuff you are struggling with *could* be part of your life lessons (unless it is a soul level block).

Life lessons are the flip side of the life purpose coin. They are the challenges we must overcome to fully live our life purpose. The repeated scenarios in your life will give you clues to what this might be.

If you have ever wondered about life purpose and googled that phrase then you will find pages and pages of websites proclaiming they know how you can find your life purpose. Often this is a number of excellent thought-provoking questions you journal about or meditate on for an hour, or it may take you several months or more. Now I am one of those people who loves contemplation and journaling, and I have spent months trying to come up with a satisfactory, concrete idea of life purpose. Mind you, I’ve always “known” for the most part – I just wanted something powerful, succinct and inspiring. I have tried just about everything out there, and I have come close – but it always seemed vague to me. And so I thought, “Well, maybe it’s just supposed to be vague. It gives you more potential, more wiggle-room, freer will…?” I just always wondered if there was something more that I was missing.

Then I discovered Soul Realignment…

Those of you who have had a Soul Realignment Akashic Records Consultation will have a very good idea about what their soul purpose is. If you look these two words up in the thesaurus they seem interchangeable – like they mean the same thing. Do they? According to the Random House Dictionary, inspiration can be defined as:

1. an inspiring or animating action or influence: I cannot write poetry without inspiration.
2. something inspired, as an idea.
3. a result of inspired activity.
4. a thing or person that inspires.
5. Theology:
   1. a divine influence directly and immediately exerted upon the mind or soul.
   2. the divine quality of the writings or words of a person so influenced.
6. the drawing of air into the lungs; inhalation.
7. the act of inspiring; quality or state of being inspired.

Whereas motivation, according to Princeton University’s Wordnet,  is defined as:

1. the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action toward a desired goal; the reason for the action; that which gives purpose and direction to behaviour; “we did not understand his motivation”; “he acted with the best of motives” 
2. the condition of being motivated; “his motivation was at a high level” 
3. the act of motivating; providing incentive 

On the surface the two do seem similar, save for that quality of divine influence in inspiration. If we examine how we would use the words, we can detect an underlying emotion. For example, there is a breathtaking scene of mountains and the glorious colours of the setting sun. Are we motivated to take a picture, or inspired?

A grizzly bear is running towards us. Are we inspired to run, or motivated?

Both inspiration and motivation are precursors to action, but one is inspired by love (positive action – moving toward something that is pleasureable, soul-level) and the other is motivated by fear (negative (re)action – moving away from something that causes pain, ego-level). Can you guess which one is which? Can you think of other examples in your own life?

Motivation can seem like movement toward something positive, but when you dig deeper you will find that it is movement away from something negative. For example, you might be motivated to lose weight. On the surface this seems to be positive movement – movement towards something “good” that make you feel better and look more attractive. But what is causing that motivation? Fear of being labelled “fat”, fear of being ridiculed by a society that reveres thinness, and/or fear of not feeling well if you don’t lose weight.

Motivation is action on behalf of our desires and the actions we take are steps toward a goal. They are logical and “make sense”. Inspiration on the other hand, tends to be spontaneous and creative in nature, intuitive, even emotional. It may indeed further your progress to a goal, but can’t be planned nor predicted. You may have a goal to expand your business, for example, and you may take certain actions to further your progress toward that goal. Then, one night when you are brushing your teeth, you may get an idea, an insight – an inspiration. Something that didn’t occur to you in thinking-mode. Inspiration is something that “moves” you at a soul-level. Looking at whether your actions are inspired or motivated will help you discern where you are headed with your life. Are you attracting what you want in your life and career? Are you living your life from a basis of love, or reacting to the circumstances of your life from a position of fear?

The more action you take from the standpoint of inspiration – of love, the more happy and successful you will be. And while not everything is inspirational, you can improve your chances of being inspired by:

• being open-minded,
• having an open heart;
• being appreciative,
• being hopeful and optimistic, and looking for the dark cloud’s silver lining (this includes with the economy!),
• looking for feelings that are positive and make you feel good,
• tuning into your intuition,
• juicing up your creativity, and
• believing that you can and will be inspired.

So, what is your inspiration right now?

Great article. I like what you’re doing with the word play here.

I disagree about motivation being a fear-based drive in all cases. Sometimes one can be motivated by feeling good about self and being in touch with the desire to have more money, for instance.

I guess it’s a tomato/tomato thing, though that analogy really doesn’t work without the audio huh?

But I totally agree about the deeper meaning of inspiration or “in the spirit” as the word literally means. This ideal brings a completely fresh and empowering perspective to the word and how we can use it in our own lives.

I love how you distinguish these two terms!
I completely agree that motivation derives from fear, ego, and at times, innate survival instincts. While, inspiration comes from our Soul or Higher Self and ultimately, Divine Source.
Both are useful; One is just more fulfilling!

Hi Timothy – thank you so much for your though provoking comment.

There is always an exception to the rule! “They’re really more like guidelines…”

Because we live in a dualistic universe, all positives and negatives are really 2 sides of the same coin.

I agree with you that feeling good is certainly a positive motivation, but I would just like us to consider going deeper with that – to see both sides of the coin. Is it really just motivation to feel good, or is it avoidance of feeling bad? In this case, likely both. So you make a very valid point!

Considering our feelings – being more aware of them, what feels good and knowing how we want to feel, as well as discerning where they are coming from (a place of love or fear – or both!) is important for conscious creation with the Law of Attraction.
